About First Dad Guide

This site started as a list one of us kept during the 3am feeds, because "just support her" was not a task list, and every search result was either a medical journal or a listicle about dad jokes. First Dad Guide is the checklist we wished existed.

What this site is

A week-by-week checklist for the non-birthing partner, birth through 12 months, plus a free printable tool and a handful of standalone guides (hospital bag logistics, the paperwork checklist, car seat basics, sleep-shift patterns, and going back to work). Every task is concrete and actionable. Where a fact needs sourcing (a deadline, a safety claim, a warning sign), we cite ACOG, AAP, NHTSA, the SSA, or the Department of Labor by name.

What this site is not

This is not a medical service, and nothing on it is medical advice. We do not diagnose, we do not treat, and we are not a substitute for her OB, midwife, or your pediatrician. We do not take a position on feeding choices; feeding tasks here are logistics (prep, cleanup, storage), never an opinion. We are not affiliated with any hospital, employer, or government agency we cite.
