Methodology

How we research and write this site

The week-by-week checklist library was last fully re-verified .

Who writes this

First Dad Guide is written and reviewed by the First Dad Guide editorial team, a small group working on behalf of the site's publisher, Urban Algorithm LLC. We are not doctors, lawyers, or car-seat technicians, and no page on this site claims to be medical, legal, or certified safety advice.

What we source, and where

Logistics facts (paperwork deadlines, car seat inspection guidance, vaccine schedule timing) are written from primary sources: the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Academy of Pediatrics (HealthyChildren.org), the CDC, NHTSA, the Social Security Administration, and the US Department of Labor's FMLA guidance. We describe what these sources say in our own words and cite the source by name on every entry and guide.

What we do not do

The one postpartum reference we use

When a question genuinely calls for "is this normal or does she need care," the honest answer is that it is not this site's job to tell you. We route that question to exactly one place, every time, using the same standing note shown below on every relevant page.

Review cadence

Entries carry the date they were last checked against source material. We do not promise a fixed re-check schedule; when a source updates its published guidance in a way that changes what an entry says, we update that entry and its reviewed date.

Corrections

If you spot something that misstates a cited source, reach the publisher through the Urban Algorithm contact page.
