Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Does First Dad Guide store anything I enter?
No. The week checklist tool runs entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to a server or stored anywhere. There is no account, no signup, and no email capture on this site.
Does First Dad Guide take a side on breastfeeding versus formula?
No, deliberately. Feeding is her decision (or the couple's decision), not this site's. Our feeding guide covers only what a non-birthing partner can concretely do to support whichever choice she makes: nights, supplies, and logistics, never which method is better.
How far does the week-by-week checklist go?
From week 0 (day one, hospital and first days home) through month 12, organized into the concrete categories that actually change week to week: night-shift logistics, feeding support, appointments, and paperwork deadlines. Use the tool once to find your week, then come back as it changes.
Is First Dad Guide medical or legal advice?
No. First Dad Guide is a logistics checklist, hospital bag, paperwork, car seat basics, sleep shifts, not medical or legal advice. The one clinical reference on this site, the postpartum warning signs guide, is sourced from ACOG and exists to tell you when to call her provider, never to replace one.
Why does this site only have one page about postpartum warning signs?
Because we are not qualified to screen for anything beyond that one sourced list, and repeating clinical framing on multiple pages invites drift from the source. Every page that touches her recovery links to the single ACOG-sourced guide instead of restating it in different words.
